Kate started practicing yoga in 1998 to balance out the physical stress of her running habit and the mental stress of working in the software industry. During the years since, she has turned a weekend hobby into her vocation. With more than 1,000 hours of teacher training under her belt, Kate brings a breadth of experience to her teaching.

Jane Gray

Jane started practicing in 2013 and immediately knew that yoga was different than other exercise she was accustomed to. She is excited about how the world of yoga continues to expand the more she learns. Jane did her teacher training at SPY in 2015, and is excited to be on the floor!

Kim Norvell

Kim was introduced to yoga for the first time in February 2011 by a roller derby teammate. After years of wanting to try yoga, she agreed to attend a class. It was exactly what she needed to balance out her Type A personality and passion for a female aggressive sport. She quickly discovered that a regular Baptiste Power Yoga practice not only suited her physically, but transformed her mental state as well, allowing her to find a more peaceful and loving way of life.

Katherine Johnson

Teacher, RYT 500
 
Katherine came to yoga in her retirement after 30+ years as an educator. She started out on the WiiFit, progressed to DVD's and finally made it to her first Gentle class at Savannah Power Yoga almost four years ago. One thing led to another and she decided to enroll in the teacher training program. Katherine wants to share her love of yoga with others.
 
In addition to yoga, Katherine is an avid gardener, enjoys cooking and entertaining, and likes to travel when she can. She is devoted to her husband of 43 years, her two sons and daughter-in-law, and her new granddaughter. Her dog, Augie, holds a special place in her heart. She believes that everyone can benefit from the joys of yoga. Who knew??? At 60+ years old, Katherine has found a new passion in life. She has also found a new home-away-from-home at Savannah Power Yoga.

Biza Mabry

RYT 200
 

Biza took her 1st yoga class 6 years ago and thought it was slow and boring. She decided yoga was not her thing. Biza is a cardio junky. She has been teaching aerobics for 5 years, TRX for 3 years and a personal trainer for 3 years, Biza is also an avid runner. She loves to sweat and get her heart pumping. When SPY opened friends told her that she would love it. After arguing that she would not she decided to give it a try. Well, the rest is history. Biza was hooked. Not only was she sweating and getting her heart pumping she discovered that there was much more. It opened her heart. She has learned to control situations that she could not control before just by breathing and not reacting. Stepping back and finding joy in things that are not always joyful.

This class will teach you the fundamental poses and breathing techniques used in all of our power yoga classes. If you are new to the practice, looking to fine-tune some of your poses, and/or you want a slower paced flow - this is a great class for you! This class is heated to 90 degrees.
