We also offer a 200 Hour training program at our sister studio, Spry Mind+Body.
Yoga 101 consists of the foundations of yoga: asana, pranayama, meditation, anatomy, history and philosophy. Students wishing to gain their 200 hour certification will take all of the Yoga 101 workshops in addition to the Power Vinyasa teacher training. We offer the Yoga 101 program as a 1 week intensive.
The Yoga 101 program is designed to provide you with the essential knowledge required to teach yoga safely and effectively, with a strong foundation in the history and philosophy of yoga. We will look at the postures in depth and learn the nitty gritty details you don't learn in a typical yoga class.
This training is also ideal for students who are simply interested in deepening their practice but do not plan to teach.
Power Vinyasa Teacher Training focuses on the techniques for teaching a powerful vinyasa yoga class. Our program is based on the Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga methodology. You will practice teach and receive one-on-one coaching and feedback throughout this training. This portion of the training is open to 200 hour program participants as well as already certified teachers wishing to advance their teaching skills. You may take the Power Vinyasa Curriculum in our extended weekend format (5 weekends).
“Impatient for the answers to my life purpose, I signed up for Savannah Power Yoga's Teacher Training in the summer of 2013. At that point, the only truth clear to me was a loud calling to practice and teach yoga. At SPY, I was encouraged and supported to follow that voice. The training planted a seed in my practice where there was a hole. These roots continue to serve me, years after certification. Understandings gained from my training at SPY remain important parts of my life, my practice, and my teachings. As I rid years of resistance to inquiry and change, the “a-ha” moments continuously flow. I am grateful that this training was in a small and intimate group of teacher trainees, where connection is at the core. I felt complete after each day of the intense training. My questions were answered and my intentions were heard. Due to the deliberate and meticulous schedule, every bit of information promised to me was covered thoroughly. I was (and still am) developing my purpose and uncovering my true self. This teacher training gave me the tools and resources I need to continue on the yogic path. I thank Kate and my mentors at SPY for teaching me to find the faith in myself I was seeking from others. It is a gift that I now have the ability to give AND keep. I did not receive the answer of purpose I was originally looking for, instead I was given everything I needed to figure it out myself. For that, I am eternally grateful." - Catherine Mulligan. SPYTT graduate, class of 2013
