Join us for a monthly gathering to discuss and reflect on the ethical principles of yoga.
We will use The Yamas and Niyamas by Deborah Adele as our guide. Each month, one of our SPY teachers will lead the discussion and help us reflect on, discuss and assimilate their meaning into our 21st century lives. These gatherings are intended to be a dialog and an inquiry into how we can align ourselves with these principles and bring them into our thoughts and actions.
The 5 Yamas include:
Ahimsa - non-violence (February 21)
Satya - truthfulness (March 21)
Asteya - non-stealing (April 18)
Brahmacharya - moderation in all things (May 16)
Aparigraha - non-covetousness (June 20)
The 5 Niyamas include:
Saucha - purity i.e. internal and external cleanliness (July 18)
Santosha - contentment (August 15)
Tapas - austerity; discipline (September 19)
Swadhyaya - study of the sacred texts (October 17)
Ishwara Pranidhana - constantly living with an awareness of the divine Presence (November 14)

No asana practice, we will sit for discussion. Please dress comfortably, bring your ideas and a journal.

This informational session is free and open to the public. Join us to learn about how your food affects every aspect of your life, the program itself, and sign up if it sounds right for you. The book, CLEAN, will be available for purchase at that time along with a 35 day unlimited yoga pass.
The Clean program will begin on Wednesday, January 2nd. Subsequent meetings will be at 7:15 pm, Wednesdays, January 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th. If you have never done the Clean Program before, we HIGHLY recommend attending. It is a FANTASTIC way to get clear about what you need and get prepared. Some preplanning will create and environment where you can be as successful as you can be in the design and execution of your Clean Program.
Restore and Renew

Restorative yoga relaxes and heals the body and mind. Sue will lead you through a series of poses that allow you to surrender your body onto supportive blankets. During your practice, full body breath will stimulate relaxation and muscular tension will soften.
Complete your practice with Sue's guided relaxation and float into deep rest. Treat yourself to this practice and see what can open up in you. Yoga students of all ages and levels welcome! This workshop is not heated.

What do I need to participate?
You must have a copy of Clean by Alejandro Junger.
Access to Facebook is not mandatory, but it has proven to be a wonderful tool. Having a juicer or a blender is a great way to experiment at home, but if you are comfortable with purchasing your juices or smoothies outside of the home they are not mandatory. The Clean team offers a Clean Kit, which will be offering for pre-ordered purchase, if you want to receive your supplements and shake mixes all ready and organized. You may also purchase supplements at local retailers.
Meetings will be held Wednesday nights from 7:15 - 8:15 pm, January 2nd - February 5th.
