Community Outreach

Supporting Local and Global Causes

Our Primary Non-Profit Partner is Hospice Savannah

With your help, Savannah Power Yoga has been supporting programs at Hospice Savannah since 2011. Our latest partnership with Hospice Savannah is at the Edel Caregiver Institute, which was created to support the needs of caregivers. Caregivers are friends, relatives, in-laws, and spouses – anyone who provides assistance to another, in whatever capacity and whatever their relationship, with no financial benefits. We currently work with ECI to provide caregiver stress relief through yoga and meditation classes for caregivers. Read more here.

Now more than ever we all need some yoga. Please join us at one of our pay-what-you-can Donation Based classes. We have Power Hour, Meditation, Spry Mat Tunes, Spry Chair, and Spry Chair + Mat Yoga options at this time. For the Chair and Chair+Mat yoga classes, please call (912) 898-3320 to register for class (up to 48 hrs prior). These classes are held at the Frank G. Murray Center on Wilmington Island or Lake Mayer Community Center. For our Donation Based Power Hour classes, please register online here

1) E- Rickshaw for transportation of patients from one hospital to another free of charge
2) 2 ECG Machines
3) 2 Dehumidifiers for the Operation Theatre for treatment of COVID Patients

In 2021 we raised over $13,000 for community causes

Join us at one of our donation-based classes and help us raise even more in 2022!

An important part of deepening our yoga practice is to reach beyond the mat and the walls of the studio and begin to take the insight and space gained from our practice and serve others.  Within the yoga tradition, the word for this is Seva: selfless service for altruistic purposes on behalf of, and for the betterment of a Community.

Our donation-based classes not only provide the most affordable yoga classes in Savannah, but they also support our local community of students, non-profit organizations, and teachers. Each quarter we take all of the proceeds from our community classes and donate to local organizations.
